How to get There
Banff is located in and around the Rocky Mountains. It's a town/
national park and there are three ways of transport that can be
used to get there that I will be mentioning. All the times
given are from Surrey and they may not always be the same.
- Driving. Driving has its pros and cons. It may be slightly harder
to get around the city but who can save up on gas. It takes
aproximately 8 hours and 47 minutes if you drive on TC-1 E
and BC-5 N according to Google
- Taking a train. There are multiple trains to choose from and traveling on a public train does have it's advantages. You can move arond a bit more and you don't have to spend hours looking at a road. However, during these times it may not be ideal to take punlic transport but the decision is up to you. It can take up to 12 hours by train but it all depends on the day you leave and the time.
- Flying. Although Banff is only a province over, taking a plane is a valid option. Since there's no traffic and a lesser travel time, some people may find it more comfortable. You will obviously miss out on the view but it's a personal choice. It usually takes 2 and 1/2 hours, and you can rent a car or ride a bus to Banff because the nearest airport is in Calgary.
